Thought Kamikaze was his best release in a long time and that was ok. This side B was slightly better then Revival and that's not saying much at all. Revival to me is the worst album I've ever heard in my life any genre

Him over that Gnat beat is :wow: I just hate when he has to speed up his flow to try to impress. That isn't impressing anyone.

Gnat is probably the best I've heard him spit in years. It's one of the rare tracks of his where he speeds up and it doesn't take away from the song. I felt that way about EPMD2 on Kings Disease, for example. Great start, then downhill into the forgettable nonsense.

why does this cat feel the need to overdub the meaning/reference/pun or point out the double entendre after EVERY line?? can you imagine if Method Man did this?

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, hey, the Method Man [CLAPPIN KIDS GAMES!!!]
Don't eat Skippy, Jif [CHOOSY MOMS!!!!] or Peter Pan [PEANUT BUTTER BRANDS WHAT!]
Peanut butter [*laugh*] 'cause I'm not butter [HELL NAW *fart noise*]
In fact, I snap back [HATS!!] like a rubber [CONDOMS!!!!]
Band, I be Sam, [*giggle*] Sam-I-Am [DR SEUSS!!!]
And I don't eat green eggs and ham [fukk PORK!!!!]

what happened to figuring out the bars yourself and gaining a deeper respect and appreciation for the emcee? is music so disposable now that youre never gonna listen more than 2-3 times anyways, so you might as well have it explained? Em aint the only rapper to do this, but hes gotta be one of the biggest offenders.. i could see this dude like half shaved, 3am in the morning doing his 200th overdub ('tryna get u alone... CAR NOTE!!!!!') and makin fart noises in the mic smh

That's jokes.

I love Method Man, but since you quoted that I have a question.

What do you think of that m.e.t.h.o.d man single?

Over time it totally came off as not all that and very simplistic. The beat and all.

Where as a kid I thought 36 Chambers was all hardcore, that joints bouncey and pop like, Dr. Seuss.

Compared to what Tical did later on and on those Wu Tang Swarm type comps after where his rhymes are way more intricate.

It's like he recorded without being fully developed....yet someone like Nas dropped illmatic at 19. I guess it's the work put in.
