Haven't listened to this in a long time, but I don't remember liking it. Only song i liked was Maxine.

This album is overlooked in Ems catalogue. His flow is unstoppable and lyrically top notch. I even like the beats. My wife was like it kinda reminds me of ATCQ. I was like I can see where you’re coming from but lyrically Em is :wow:

Always liked the "Infinite" song. Never heard anything else from the album, but you can see traces of his trademark style in that song.

I'm infinite, you heard of hell? Well, I was sent from it
I went to it serving a sentence for murdering instruments
Now, I'm trying to repent from it
But when I hear the beat, I'm tempted to make another attempt at it

:wow:

As good as his first few Aftermath albums and that whole era around then is its always the underground and early stuff I listen to most.

Quality isn't even an issue for me with the early stuff. I like that lo-fi sound of the early Em stuff. Same with D12's early output and all that Detroit stuff like 5Ela.

Yeah there's a lot to be said for having stuff in top quality but it doesn't always make a track better. Especially if it's the only version you know.

I've heard cleaned up versions of stuff and it doesn't always make it better. It's like the plethora of unreleased stuff related to Dre. Happy to hear it in any form.

That underground feel of Infinite is one of the things that makes it for me. If it was mastered and cleaned up which it has been to some extent I wouldn't enjoy it as much.

Again it's personal preference but I think it's a good thing at times.

This might be of interest to people in this thread.

Every Eminem Song in Chronological Order - YouTube

More so the stuff from the early days but 614 Eminem songs in chronological order starting in 1988.

About 16 years ago, Manix from Soul Intent put up the master studio tapes of around 20 unheard Eminem songs on eBay. Bidding was in the thousands and myself and an A&R and manager who had worked with some huge artist both sides of the pond decided to bid. We were winning and bidding like fukk. Then there was a power cut where we were at the time. Around an hour before bidding ended! This is before you could just bring up eBay on your phone and we ran around town trying to find somewhere with power.

We never did.

I did hear years later that Manix had changed his mind and decided not to sell them but we were outbid anyway. Whether it was himself or a friend bidding against us in the end I'll never know. I had the list of tracknames somewhere and probably do in the depths of my emails so don't know if it's the same tracks that leaked eventually or not.

fukk we drank that night.

I can see where you’re coming from and I agree the lo fi sound adds character but I have to say that I recently was able to get my hands on Infinite on vinyl and it sounds cleaner than the version online but it’s still got its grittiness to it. You can just hear the bass better and the sound is a bit louder but compared to other great sounding vinyls it’s still kind of a lo fi mush which I think maintains its character

Is it one of the original pressings or a bootleg? I had a look on discogs at an original pressing and it was close to £1000 so didn't order it but would consider a repress if it still retains that character. Good that whatever version you got is of good quality. It's defo a collector's piece that's good to have in a collection.
