Those 3 years where his ankle rolled every time he took a step. I never really heard how/why that stopped happening :lupe:

Yea its funny you say that cuz i think thats the issue....lets be realistic here....is curry the dynamically feared scoring threat and matchup problem as MVP season kevin durant, or prime Kobe? IMO no because hes still like 6 2, hes not THAT fast in terms of blowing by people....hes really just the GOAT shooter, with great handles....fine. Teams however seem to play him in a way that it makes him better than he truly is....only because IMO i think the team constructed around him makes him that much more potent. Now to my point. Individually if you a coach, and you tell your role players, hey look you obviously cant stop steph...so focus on doubling barnes and green and klay so they can make decisions, you might have to deal with a player who truly thinks that they can stop certain players that they obviously cant....its not unheard of in the NBA. Players are delusional. When they suck, they dont realize they suck....and this causes coaches to bytch up and keep playing them when they should be on the bench.

Curry is great. But he isnt impossible to beat...his team looks impossible to beat because teams are bringing 4 guys on one player to run him off the 3 point line which he still makes the shot....so why not let him shoot that shot open...and bet on percentages to win out? At least draymond isnt getting others invovled, klay isnt piling it on, barnes and igoudala arent hitting lucky 3s, and you can actually have players that can gang rebound......let curry score 100 every game and make him prove every night hes the greatest shooter ever......DO NOT LET THE OTHERS MATTER.
I said this same thing back in 09 when the Magic was beating the Cavs and they kept doubling Dwight and Nelson, Turkoglu and Lewis was making it rain on them kickouts. If they let Dwight get 40 and shut out everyone else they would've won.

Sometimes you gotta let the best player carry a team. Because they generally can't every night. Jordan was averaging 35 in the 80s and went home early.

what im saying is you game plan your defense based on not letting them get second chance points, not letting their shooters get open...not letting draymond green find OPEN shooters....and not to worry about running curry off the line....yall thinking in absolutes, and im thinking in terms of gameplan and where to shift your focus.....but carry on.....its not like popovich doesnt use this tactic or nothing :comeon:

You make good point but the thing is often times coaches don't have enough time to really game plan during the regular season. But come playoff time and 7 games series coaches can really game plan and make adjustments. So we will see how this shot plays out.

its not really that foreign. Popovich guards lebron and durant, and cp3 that way....its so weird how no one else in the nba does it. Its just common sense.

Timmaye,TP9,Kawhi,Manu & other high Bball IQ role players kinda makes that possible for the last 15 years. Unless they played the young gawd of basketball & got destroyed :banderas:

Also y'all some weirdos who the fuk they gotta convince? They win it again(which they will) succaz stay succaz. Sad mindstate to have

yo teams are so dumb right now its hilarious....why are they even trying to stop curry? how does that make any sense? is curry gonna outscore a whole team? NO, so why focus on running him off the 3 point line? let him shoot as many times as he wants...what you CANNOT do is let him shoot, and have draymond fukking green, and harrison fukking barnes, and andre fukking igoudala become prolific scorers....only klay thompson is allowed that....YOU CANNOT LET THE OTHERS EAT...that lets currys effectiveness hurt you, because now you have to pick poison when you dont have to.

its like coaches are scared to tell their shytty players that they shytty.....only popovich has the balls to call it like it is...and once the spurs play the warriors the smartest coach of all time will show the NBA how to stop the warriors, and then the hype dies down.

once again yall arent getting what im saying...1. teams are basically running two or even 3 defenders at him to contest every shot he takes which puts the team in terrible position to get a defensive rebound, and leaves them vulnerable to second chance points, also if the shot is made (which for curry it usually is anyways) it causes the team to be unbalanced in getting into their own offensive sets. And yes if curry is the only one doing most of the scoring you might as well have him score more twos than 3s...2. The point about him collapsing and dishing out is exactly what im saying. Stick to the shooters, and make them make a play. Force them to become the point guard....draymond is so effective because teams are already focused on curry and dont really care about draymond....lets switch the focus from curry to draymond and have him have to create his own shot, and involve others at the same time.....that can change their dynamic defensively.

Curry isnt gonna play the whole game...so minimizing the effectiveness of the others and leaving them out of rhythym is essential. The clippers played a great defensive game on the standpoint of keeping curry out of rhythym and it still didnt matter because they (besides from being mentally retarded) allowed the others to get into a groove when curry was hitting tough shots with 3 defenders in front of him. My point is its stupid and redundant to run 3 people at him if he hits the shot anyways....best bet is to have the others locked down just incase he misses so they dont get second chance opportunities to hit open 3s that cause more damage.

A lot of people in this thread treated you like you didn't know what you were talking about, but it's exactly why Detroit blew the Warriors out and why the Warriors blew out the Cavs. Detriot forced Curry and Klay to beat them by themselves and they couldn't do it, even when they shot very well. Cavs forced the players around those 2 to beat them and got beaten by everyone because of it.
