And what you seem to be describing is worse. The Yankees are making the playoffs annually and you won't watch if the GM doesn't do what you want him to do? What if what Cashman does works? Will you feel dumb for not watching or tune in when it is apparent they might win?

I’ll never actively root for another team or stop being a fan of the current one, I just check out emotionally and stop watching the games. If Cashman adds some bum ass end of the rotation starters and tries to run it back next year I’ll wish them the best but I certainly won’t be as invested as I was this year. And if it works I’ll hold my L and admit I was wrong

At some point in my youth...I had the option of at least supplementing my fandom with either the Yankees or Giants...but no, I somehow chose the trifecta of misery that I find myself drowning in today.

fam, with the Yankees it was just too easy. Why fumble and deal with the Mets or any other NY team not named the giants in the early 2000s. Yankees literally brought 5 chips to the city in your lifetime.

That's the problem. Rooting for the Yankees is easy/boring. It's like rooting for the inevitable. Some people like some risk.
