Between this, the ExxonMobil lobbyist bragging about how he has regular access to Manchin and how he's a 'kingmaker,' and Manchin begging his donors to pressure Republicans into voting for S.1, it's no question that Joe Manchin is corrupt AF, which anyone with a brain has been screaming for months. :yeshrug:

But right-wingers love him for always threatening to torpedo Biden's agenda, the media loves to dikkride him as a 'sensible moderate Democrat,' and liberals won't criticize him because "b-B-bUt wE nEeD dAt sEeT!" so he won't be held accountable for any of it. :manny:

If Joe wasn’t playing this role it’d be somebody else. Evan Bayh pulled the same bullshyt during Obama’s term. And I’m sure if we ever get another Democrat President it will happen again.

You never see Republicans torpedo their own agenda. And now we’ve seen it twice in consecutive administrations at a time when the country is moving steadily right.

Brehs, the backlash against this type of shyt...which history shows is inevitable....will be bloody.
He has suffered no consequences for his actions his entire career.

Remember, he appointed himself to the Senate when Robert Byrd died. He is shamelessly corrupt and no one cares.

Exactly

It’s why we need to stop saying goofy technocratic shyt like “unethical” and call this behavior corrupt.

I should've been clear that I don't think the backlash is going to happen today or even in the very near future (cpl years). I am speaking from a wider historical perspective. It's one of those things that IMO seem inevitable but society is incapable of avoiding.

Americans would rather walk into authoritarian rule than kill the wealthy and corrupt.

One of the most quintessentially american traits is a belief that the US is impervious to history.

Gotta realize that this country is only a couple hundred years old.

The right wing is turning on the wealthy/corporations etc bc they see them as complicit in their loss of power.

The left wing has never really liked them and are collaborating today only bc of a shared enemy.

The problem is that the wealthy/corporate class etc don't know when to stop. There will be a reckoning.

Nice to see this revisited but wasn't this exposed years ago?

Also was Epipen ever held accountable for this bs?

Tell him if he doesn't vote to end the filibuster and everything else we need then the administration and congressional leaders will use ALL their power to go after his family.

He will claim political persecution and become an independent while voting GOP.
