The way you put this, straight to the point, was enough to make me really acknowledge how useless it is to have arguments with people like that. Imagine ceding any ground to Republicans and apologists for right leaning ideas after Trump, COVID, the insurrection, and their stolen election claims. Anyone ceding grounds to those people on the basis of LGBT issues is either dumb as all hell or so far gone that their mind is irrecoverable, especially in adult age. I honestly don't even find debate "fun" anymore, there seemed to be a time where your interlocutor was acting in good faith at the minimum but these days everyone and their opinions "need" to be heard, it's just overrun but the dumbest people, and they are always the loudest too. With so little effort they put into understanding things, they don't deserve a response from anyone. I said this in the last thread related to this topic, but take a look at the effort put into posts from one side in this thread and the other, there is a stark contrast, yet they continue to be taken seriously as opposed to being ignored and left to their own devices. Sometimes it's fun to play a bit of socratic questioning but I think a majority of the time I'm just rage fueled from seeing this amount of ignorance.

Moderate compared to what? A lot of shyt that is "far left" now was moderate as recently as the 1990s, whereas there is shyt that is moderate now that was far-left or far-right back then. Claiming something is objectively better just because it's "moderate" is bullshyt because moderate changes every generation.

Would you have been a moderate in 1859, arguing for a compromise so the South could preserve slavery? Would you have been a moderate in 1965, arguing that civil rights activists were moving too fast and shouldn't give Black folk in the south rights just yet?
