Can't imagine how bad financially my sisters last years of her life if she didn't go to the Cancer institute thats being funded by a billionaire for certain patients that can't afford it. No way they would have been able to afford it with my brother in laws horrible 5k ded insurance policy that they paid 700 dollars a month for 3 people. We shouldn't be in the USA where billionaires are the choices between life and death when we spill small nation gdps on wars.

She got my vote even though she's not running

Sidenote:People talk so much shyt about Boston but if America as a whole was like Massachusetts we'd be an advanced civilization by now :wow:

I still mock you goofy liberals though:umad:
Meh, she's a progressive in name only. All you have to do is look at her wilful failure to endorse Bernie Sanders in 2016. Then she pulled out of the 2020 primary way too late and hurt Sanders when it was clear he was the stronger progressive candidate, after Kamala and all the others pulled out when Obama finger wagged them to stay in line for vice president Biden.

But she is clearly right here, although she doesn't go far enough, considering the whole class warfare context a lot of pundits are failing to mention.

She is not wrong.

The question to me though is what are these billionaires prepared to do to hold on to power.

What I find staggering is that we're even in this position. The financial crisis in 2008 was an opportunity to stamp this fukkery out for good. Instead, they were bailed out and allowed to accumulate wealth at an alarming rate.

I guess the metric for a successful country became the profits of companies rather than the wellbeing of its people.

she's right

health insurance is robbing taxpayers blind
The answer is not 'Kill the rich!'.

I mean, you can do that if you want and if you feel that will effect change, knock yourself out.

You'll get free healthcare in prison.

This is sarcasm.

how much do y'all americans pay on avg for health insurance? And is it mandatory?
It varies in the amount. I’ve heard if you were unemployed pre-Obamacare that it was $400/month for COBRA which is basically self funded health insurance.

For most Americans it is mandatory because it comes out of your paycheck and you pay the rate that your employer pays. If you don’t work you don’t have to pay for it.

It's thru my employer which I believe pay 50% of the cost, I pay 205 a month pre taxes for a family plan with a 3k deductible. They only cover certain percentage of each type of visit. Hospital visits and surgery being the lowest of the coverage of course.

How much someone pays varies. Most Americans have health insurance, but not all.

Many people have health insurance through their employer (taxes are taken out of your income). Other people have private health insurance where you pay a premium to a company (like United Healthcare).

Old people (65 and older) usually have healthcare through a program called Medicare. Medicare covers most medical costs but not all. Low-income people can have health insurance through a program called Medicaid (though conservative/Republican states usually put higher restrictions to qualify for it). Kids usually have health insurance through Medicaid or a program called CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program).
