Bruh the entire league called ya man trash mere minutes after he got got during the SB. I'd never seen an entire league in any sport eager to unleash the flutes on any one player like they did that Sunday night.

You can be a crappy player and contribute to a nice playoff run or two as a starter and even be a starting player on a SB winning defense. You might be too young to know this name but when you get a chance look up Elvis Patterson, aka "Toast."

Eli Apple is this generation's Elvis Patterson. OG Giants fans who were there during the Parcells era will understand that reference really fast

"Patterson attended Jack Yates High School. He accepted a football scholarship from the University of Kansas, where he began his career as a linebacker. As a senior, he was initially moved to defensive end, before being switched to cornerback.[1][2]"

From Wikipedia

That's surprising to see a guy play all 3 levels of defense in college.

Hey even the worst pro athletes are still elite athletes :yeshrug:

Mans was still given the nickname "Toast," and it doesn't take a football genius to know that's not a nickname you want for a Corner. By the way the man who gave him that nickname?

His own head coach, Bill Parcells :merchant:

:picard: Damn he mocking Hamlin? Kind of fukk nikka is this?

Dude has always been a head case. There's a reason he didn't even make it through his entire rookie deal with the Giants as a first round pick at a premium position despite still being good enough to start on a team that's made 2 straight Final Four runs.

This is who Eli Apple is. Then you add in the additional baggage of that shrew mother of his and you get a guy who's not worth the headache that you release and upgrade at the first chance you get.

Because he’s a dikkhead who nobody likes. they were waiting for him to fail. It is what it is. He doesn’t seem to care about everyone coming at him, cause he does not stop talking. Doesn’t change the fact that the way he’s being used and the role he’s being entrusted to play, he’s doing well at it.

Idk what to think about this type of shyt, I love the competitive spirit but also don’t like the lack of sportsmanship. You can talk before a game but after the game it’s GG.

Especially in the nfl and you’re mid-level, you can get shipped off to Buffalos practice squad in about a month if you injure yourself

I'm surprised because the body type needed to play in the trenches are so different than to be a cornerback. Good on him though

It also speaks to just how naturally strong dude was / is. In the business it's referred to as "Country Strong."

Besides you can have undersized DEs in college. Do you remember Corey Moore from Virginia Tech? He measured out around 5'10" - 5'11", around 210 lbs and was terrorizing the ACC in the late 90s.
