Their cash cows can only take them so far. You can only make so many The Sims games before it gets boring and Madden is just Madden. Their core franchises are alright but they don't have many titles that you are going to rush to the store on a release date. They probably just need to restructure and refocus their company strategy.

If I was running EA I would abandon the console market and migrate over to portable (i.e.: iphone, 3ds, psp vita, and maybe tablet). Games on those platforms are cheaper to make but generally get bigger returns. Why spend millions making mediocre big budget games like Battlefield that are easily overshadowed by Call of Duty. The Madden brand has also gone stale not sure why they bother with that shyt.

It would make a lot of sense to buy EA, won't the next generation of consoles will be able to download games as soon as they come out? If so, that'd be more revenue for EA(less money to publish games).

Yall shytting on EA like they didn't used to be one of the GOATS. They used to drop classic after classic. Did they get bought out by someone that turned them into shyt?

Or maybe...just maybe...you're getting heckled because:

BF3 is NOT mediocre, and was the first big budget push of the entire series.

You're nowhere near as clever as you give yourself credit for, you fukking moron.

I'm glad I know how some chump with not the slightest bit of business and industry knowledge would run a billion dollar entertainment company.

:shaq2: So how's your mobile game company going breh?

The thing is I wouldn't completely abandon the console market for the mobile gaming. They have exposure to the mobile market and a good set of franchises, they just aren't doing a good job making people care about them whenever they are released. They just need new talent and a new set of games in addition to their core to get back on track.
