democracy is the oppression of the minority

Democracy can be enacted in many different ways. Mob rule or mob vote is only one of the ways. There can be a multitude of ways to have proper checks and balances, and the way the United States did it can be vastly improved.

Yea, it can definitely be mob rule and oppression of minorities. It needs a system of checks and balances to prevent that.
