first time i played i thought it was more like monster hunter. Turns out it's a battle royale :ehh:

Not sure how people are running thru the map already. Every multiplayer game is like this, you got the dudes that play nonstop with no breaks somehow learning everything

Seems like FromSoft is experimenting with a new style of gameplay and presentation with this Nightreign DLC for future IPs.

Blending developer FromSoftware's winning Souls combat with a Fortnite-esque PvE objective has no right to work - but it somehow does. The recent network test allowed us take an early look at how Elden Ring Nightreign is shaping up on current-gen machines. Curiously the ray tracing mode of the main game is absent, but the frame-rate and quality modes provide more than enough for us to dissect and analyse.

Performance:
  • PS5
    • Quality Mode: 35-45 FPS, drops to the mid 20s happen, goes outside VRR range
    • Frame-Rate Mode: 45-60 FPS, goes outside VRR range
  • PS5 Pro
    • Quality Mode: 45-60 FPS, with drops to 40 FPS at the lowest which is outside VRR range
    • Frame-Rate Mode: 50-60 FPS, which makes VRR viable
  • Xbox Series X
    • Quality Mode: 35-45 FPS, drops to the mid 20s happen, which is outside VRR range
    • Frame-Rate Mode: 45-60 FPS, but within VRR range
  • Xbox Series S
    • Quality Mode: 30-40 FPS, 5 FPS lower than the PS5 and XSX. More frequent drops to the mid 20s during busy scenes, which is outside VRR range
    • Frame-Rate Mode: 40-60FPS, fits neatly within the VRR window
