I'm definitely backing this

I'm not seeing anything in it so far where this needs to debut on the PS5 and XBOX Series X. Granted it'll probably be a long ass time before the development is finished but it don't matter if they have a budget of $100 mill, this clearly isn't a next gen game.

Im keeping a eye out on this one but im cautions considering how long crowdfunded games get released (if at all in most cases, looking at you Project Phoenix).
Well they want it to be easily accessible and for every backer to be able to play it. A lot of people trade in their last gen systems for next gen systems so it's just for future proofing essentially. If they make it for XBONE then it'll be playable on XSX so I don't think that will add dev time because they are natively compatible. It's Nintendo and PS we don't know about.
If this drops in 2022 on PS4, Switch and XBONE only they'll probably end up shooting themselves in the foot, game could be DOA.
Games take a long time to make, and most crowdfunded games are being funded way before the game is complete.
That's why I don't back any of the games I see being crowdfunded, I look at the game and the stretch goals and then I just bookmark it to check to see when it drops. If I like it when it drops I pay for it after release. I don't feel the need to back a game, if it's good, people will put up money so I don't feel the need to participate.
I get that but it's not as if they didn't know the release window (2+ years from now, and next gen) when they decided to develop the game.
I'm just saying it looks like it could be a Switch game. If it's next gen, make it look next gen.
I've crowd funded quite a few games (everything from "Divinity: Original Sin 2" to "Battlechasers") and the main two reasons to fund early are #1 you usually get a pretty significant discount on the game's price and #2 you typically get access to the game long before anyone else does.
Not to mention depending on how much bread you put up, you could help design the game, be a character in it, etc. and all sorts of extra stuff. I've never personally invested that much but it's an option beyond "go to Wal-Mart and buy a new game."
