The way that many men have reacted to this is fascinating. It's just further proof that people don't want to hold the group they belong too accountable for anything.
you've got posters in here who are constantly frustrated when white people try to skip past the issue of racism whenever a white person does something fukk'd up by countering with the "well not all white people are like that" and, "there were other reasons why he acted like that," and "well black people made him feel that way"
yet when you have a blatantly misogynist dude who clearly expressed his hatred of women and was brainwashed by the notion that women are obligated to have sex with dudes just because they're "nice", you have some of those same posters do the same exact shyt that they get mad at the white folks for. "not all men are like that," "there were other reasons why he acted like that," "women made him feel that way"
news flash, everybody knows not all men are like Rodger and that other factors played a role. you don't need to constantly state it and harp on it in order to make yourself feel better. the dude was a misogynist and brainwashed by a fukked up outlook on women. completely denying this just to make yourself feel more secure as a man isn't gonna help the situation
if Rodger had posted some of his views on women here, sure he would've been clowned, but he also would've had some support, would've been told to go to the "tips on getting women thread," would've been given advice, and blame would've been shifted towards women for "making him feel the way he felt." very few people would call him out for basically feeling like the fact that he was a "nice guy" meant that women owed him sex.
contrarily, if Rodger posted some of his views on race here, he would've been clowned, mocked, negged and banned from the forum, and rightfully so. there would be no support, no advice and no blame shifted towards the minorities for "making him feel the way he felt."
the fact that his sexism and his racism would likely lead to completely different reactions here is a problem. His sexism and racism are both fukk'd up, and the fact that people here seem to have trouble realizing this is a huge problem.
