He traded them for picks and they were old, this is a completely different scenario in which he's trading an 19 year old to a team loaded with young talent. This could be setting the Sixers up too well, they were looking at players who didn't necessarily fit with the talent they had at 3, while Fultz is literally the perfect player to add to their team.

I'll believe it when I see it, breh. Seems like 6ers have awful luck with young guys getting injured.

He drafted a generational player, he traded Elfrid Payton for Saric, he wanted to draft Porzingis but team ownership wanted one of the 3 college players, the Colangelo's traded Nerlens for scraps, Hinkie would have got two 2020 firsts out of it.

:scust: @ You riding with the dude that shows up 3 hours late to work and tries to take credit for the 4 hour project.

He did a good job I think the argument some people have is that he didn't reinvent the wheel and that other gm's can't do what he did because of pressure from management to win right away

If it's a 3 team trade Phoenix might end up with Josh :ohlawd:

Some people aren't thinking this logically at all. Celtics have the number one pick. However, they want the person who likely be the 3rd pick in the draft. They could EASILY get that person, but which would you rather have, getting ONE and that be it or getting that ONE you intend to get a long with more via trade?

It depends how Fultz performs compared to who they draft

A lot of people think this Fultz is the best player in the draft by a decent margin

Means Ainge wants to commit to IT long term, interesting.

And it's a wise move. Why should he get rid of the heart and soul and motivator of that team? I mean statistically and defensively it's logical but that's like trading Draymond and the team losing it's soul.

Fultz is the sexy pick.... But like in dominoes, all money ain't good money.

He probably is. But getting Fultz means getting rid of IT. And Thomas is more than a by the numbers players. He's the heart and soul and energized of that team. The body (team) won't function without it's heart.
