I respect that EC3 says "did they drop the ball or did I not grab the ball and take it?"

Nope, they dropped the ball. All they had to do was run back the same gimmick he had in Impact. Rich snob that makes his money in the fed by having a good body and good on the mic.

They wouldn't let him talk, relegated him to jobber/comedy segments. He even could have been a great heater heel manager for someone, if they didn't like his in-ring skill..

The only way he could have dropped the ball himself is by not sitting outside Vince office for hours with everyone else every chance he got.

Also I hate his new gimmick/look, and he is beyond washed for me now.

This is a a soundbite but I skipped straight to the part to where he mentioned that he didn't give wwe a reason to care for him, saying that he did not want to be the guy that was just happy to be there, and ended up becoming that guy

But still, they should've let him cook a bit more in NXT.

WWE had a fully formed character in EC3 that they could've hit the ground running with but because it wasn't developed by them they refused to give it a shot.
So I would say WWE dropped the ball with him definitely. The EC3 character was big enough to look past how dude was just middling as a wrestler and WWE could've done a lot with that character if they gave it a chance.
