There's been the Franc CFA in Central and Western Africa for ages now, and no one ever thought about becoming a single country.

All of these unions (be it African Union, Asian Union, North American Union) are just a step closer to globalism. Of course the naive and misguided are quick to dismiss the idea as conspiracy theory but oh well.

probably will be less volatile then their current currencies. If your currencies are too volatile it makes it very hard to do business.

because a bloc of countries will be fundamentally sounder than a single weak country.

people take Italy more seriously because they know they have the backing of the EU. Will it work for these countries, I don't know.

but wouldn't that bloc of countries just be propping up that single weak country?

whatever the reason that single country is "weak" still exist, no? what happens when those other countries can't share the load anymore? seems like a transfer of risk and not building wealth
