Social media made it so there is a lot more scrutiny in which the "rich and famous" are dressed, and it influences everyone else.

The NBA, NFL, FIFA and even the MLB started implementing dressing standards and some of the biggest stars: Lebron James/Kobe/Dwayne Wade, Robinson Cano, Victor Cruz, David Beckham, all took it to a new high.
This is overall the best dressed time since maybe the 60s, though there are some extremes (Young Thug, Lil B, Justin Bieber, etc) the overall push toward dressing like you're not a 14 year old being forced to go to a wedding, is stronger. The fashion game is having it's best years.
