Red States/GOP really want to push for a decentralized nation where states and state entities have dominion over everything, even local politics. I think they been wanting to wrestle back control since the 50s when the federal government enforced Brown v Education.
Texas wants an Education Saving Account. I'm confused to why this would work. It clearly doesn't bring down cost in healthcare whatsoever. I have both a HSA and health spending account but i spend more out of pocket year by year. The health costs keep going up and these financial vehicles do nothing to stem costs or attack root caused.

Privatizing education also will not help whatsoever. Health care is still dependent a lot on federal funds and federal oversight. Just having upper middle class people with private insurance makes things worse for the majority of people. this population demands things like restaurant style food, hotel like accomodations, and managing their own care by seeing specialists for minor health questions/concerns. We are a big nation and we should have resources more equally distributed.
