I would say read the book. Shaq was and still is beloved by many of his teammates. Many of Kobe's teammates from early in his career hated him.
That's why I mentioned the book, so it doesn't seem like this is me just spouting random nonsense. I will find quotes and post them later.
But again, a person like me who is familiar with Kobe finds it admirable how much he matured over the years.
I actually read that book. And while Kobe was an a$$hole it was also obvious as hell dude had a bone to pick with Kobe and was exaggerating a lot of shyt. If you ever read it again, cross reference some of the plays he describes in the book with actual video of the games. I thought my memory was fukking with me cause he'd describe Kobe looking off multiple wide open teammates and then I'd watch the video and see the author was talking out his ass. Made me not believe things were as bad as the author painted it to be.

Had the same thought after reading the book a few years ago. Young Bean had his issues with being arrogant and aloof but he wasn’t a hating weirdo like Shaq.

Shaq is complicated.. because he’s generally known as one of the nicer “superstars” to fans over the past 15-20 years

There’s tons of stories of Shaq just being a good fun dude to normal people

But he’s also someone who contemporaries or people he thinks are lesser than NBA players don’t have good things to say
That’s simple to see though.

Hater to anyone that even remotely can affect his status, nice to people who pose no threat whatsoever. Seems quite reasonable for a hater

My problem with both his Lakers books was that he seemed to dwell too much on the negative. He was pretty hard on Shaq, Kareem and Magic too. But Kobe came off the worst.

Pearlman was low key a hater with an axe to grind. Would've been interesting if they kept making winning time and what they would have cut from it.

Did you read his Dallas Cowboys book? I heard that book was crazy (only things I remember are the Charles Haley stories, lol).

Shaq had his issues, but people love to try to change the history about Kobe. Young Kobe had just as many issues as Shaq, if not more. Kobe is probably my favorite basketball player and it was great to see him grow and mature as he got older but he had issues too.
Was Kobe chasing teammates with shytty toilet paper? Was Kobe pissing in a bucket and dumping it on rookies? Kobe was an a$$hole in his younger years, but I haven't heard stories of Kobe violating on Shaq's level

I'd fukk someone up over that

On some get them by any means
That’s a junior high school level prank. No grown man thinks that’s funny and the people that laugh when they hear it are laughing at the person that did it rather than finding humor in it.

I don’t know if these NBA players who are telling these foul ass stories realize how weird and bytch made they seem as if this shyt is normal or funny. Everytime I hear this shyt I’m like :gucci:
