John Cena doesn't have good feuds..he hasn't stood out since what? 2003 when he was heel and rapping against Taker/Kurt Angle/Eddie the last few months of 2003. He can't elevate the business because he's shockingly average and boring and can't inspire enough to lead a new era. That's why they brought in Mayweather..brought in Trump..had Austin be a guest ref...had Rock take over the entire show for 3 years and then apparently wanted him and Lesnar to take OVER again next year for the biggest promoted show they'll ever do. Cena went over but who thinks Cena is rated higher than the Attitude Era guys? Maybe a bunch of girls who happen to like Justin Beiber as well...some very SICK kids? That's it. No grown man is gonna bring up Cena with the giants of pro wrestling. Rock, Austin, Taker, Savage, Sting, Flair, NwO, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, Eddie Guerrero...no one sees him on that level and they never will. The CM Punk thing was his coming out party..not anything about Cena. Cena got schooled on the mic and was afraid to talk back at certain points because Punk had slick answers. Just like he got red faced and angry when they showed that Rock mountain video and he said male fans were sick of him and don't like him and knew he was a phony son of a bytch. Dude looked like he was about to cry and duck his head. He's weak and needs protection.
Rock never did. That's why he's a legend and everyone else is PG oriented and soft. Piff is very smart but he's off on his criteria. This is a worked business..what makes money is what counts, everything else is a work and just fan opinion at that point. You can't run from facts...match ratings are subjective. You can call Michaels the greatest this and that but is he really better than the guys you refuse to watch in Japan? Of course not. Michaels would well up and cry if he had to go strike for strike with prime KENTA or Kawada. You just have a limited view of the system because of the WWE mountain you've watched all this time. No big deal. Rock is above of all that though..he can appear in Japan and would get a standing ovation...just like he did in 2002 when he and Jericho carried the tour.
