Young millennial, Gen Z and the kids just hitting 12 and 13 now are the three generations that take mental health very seriously.

They're more aware of the shyt that ruins them and are consciously making efforts to seek help and cut back on excess. I remember a couple years back people were really into cottage-core and you even see how they dress too with more simple designs and clothing focused more on comfort than aesthetics.

I know it's fun to shyt on younger people but as a whole they seem to be trying to actually deal with problems rather than pretending they don't exist. People who work in health care and customer service know what I'm talking about. Older people refuse to admit they have health problems more often than young people, and older people tend to be more nosey and rude in customer service settings. They see empathy as a weakness while younger people see it as an asset. That isn't to say you can't pull out anecdotes of young people being awful, but I'm saying as a whole the trend is towards a focus on being better human beings--specifically the young people who are the type to buy dumb phones. They aren't glued to fox news, talk radio, and social media the way that older people are. They're more likely to listen to podcasts or watch YouTube explainer videos or comedy news which ironically tends to be better researched and presented than TV news. The youth that aren't terminally online tend to be nicer people overall.

Now watch people come here and prove me right about what I said with previous generations pretending something doesn't exist or isn't happening rather than acknowledging it and trying to learn about it--or worse, trying to derive a false sense of superiority by making fun of the people who engage with the topic after acknowledging its existence. You'll see a masterclass in denial.

Aint no way this is happening on a large enough scale to make a dent in Gen Z's short attention span. It's a wrap for these kids. Cute article tho.
Right

We live in the fast food era where the next viral moment comes and go.

Gen Z literally live on the Internet. Probably why a lot of them are somewhat socially stunted, depressed and anxious. They take the Internet as their personality instead of just another medium for creativity and entertainment.

At least with millennials, millennials experienced the best of both worlds. The rise of the Internet becoming a household name. The prime of Internet culture without social media, cancel culture, SJWS and divisive Karen’s dictating how they act. While experiencing the real world playing outside and having social skills.

As somebody that was on the "Dumbphone" minimalistic wave....this is the dumbest fukking wave I have ever seen. For starters, there's minimalistic apps to keep you from looking at the phone beyond typical important stuff. Also, there's a thing called willpower.

I learned my lesson with getting a dumbphone by having the WOAT form of smartphone I have ever touched. It was a Nokia whatever have you with 3gbs of ram and a shyt load of problems.

  • Locks ups
  • Slow dragging interface
  • Sluggish performance
It made me appreciate the concept of a smartphone in general. The issue with Gen Z is that they rely on technology to dumb down the technology, instead of smartening up and knowing how to dumb down the technology.

You don't need a damn brick Paul Heyman phone just to stay focus. Like just put the damn phone down and read a book :deadrose: . Or download this app that I used once a blue moon when I need to focus on writing:

To think, someone actually got paid to write this bullshyt, the another person used company time to edit it. This is why companies can layoff with impunity… half their employees are worthless.

I agree

The difference between previous generations and Gen Z is since mental Illness is broadcasted by Gen Z more often on Tik Tok, notoriety is making it more of a public concern.

Gen Z face virtual bullying, harsh criticism and verbal abuse. Like I’ll say this again, the Internet does breed a lot of toxicity and extremism. People are braver from a screen. Purging words they’ll never say it in person due to having suffer consequences.

However, this was makes Gen Z the softest generation. Softer than a biscuit. As a millennial, we dealt with being roasted with the harshest of harsh jokes. Being roasted is what led to us growing thick skin. Becoming the stoic individuals we are today.

How we dealt with bullies was catching the fade once we was out of school or we random into them in the streets.

If roasting would’ve came out today, this generation would suffer a nervous breakdown from the first joke :mjlol:

The most normal Gen Z imo are those born from 1996-1999. They’re Xennials, the cusp between Millennials and Zoomers.
