Individuals can speak for their own threads, But we see anything is possible. Luka has been to multiple conference finals games and the finals last year...but he wasn't beyond being moved.
Now, Luka has injuries issues and defensive issues at anytime so he's not perfect. And I was disappointed he didn't play in the post outside of the one game they won in the finals and then he went back to Luka ball on the perimeter the next game. But a professional organization felt Luka couldn't take them over the hump due to certain flaws (skillset and decisions) that they feel he would not improve substantially enough over time for the money he would command.
Coli GM threads can be plausible especially when it is an issue of skillset and/or decision making of the player in question. A player could get over the hump in another situation and a team should not hold on too long because of jersey sales or fear that any future success was replicable with the current organizational structure, culture and philosophy....
