He said he blew it all. It makes sense for his net worth to be low.

#5 on the Hot 100 is a huge rap song in 2006. He also included touring. Like I said in the Booth version of this thread I think the 5-ish years of relevance from the record let him milk 20M.
I know Jones made money, and I'm not surprised he blew it all, but I'm willing to bet at his peak he was worth under $10M...more likely half of that.

All of that, and he specifically mentioned touring. You do 100-150 show dates at 75-100K a show in your biggest 2 year stretch, that's a window of 7.5M-15M. Over another 3-5 years I don't see why he couldn't have reached a total 20M to have generated and burned through.

If Jim said "I made 20M in a year" I'd unequivocally call cap. He never said that. We know he doesn't have a second record close to "We Fly High" so he's essentially giving us his career earnings.
