I was about to preorder one because stick drift was so bad on my current controller and I upgraded my X to the elite so figured I'd do the same for the ps5. But that battery life absolutely killed it. Worse than the already bad DS controller? Gotta pass. Im very disappointed.
Why don't you guys have a 5W charger connected close by and just play it off that? Not ideal, but I plan on doing that once my controller batteries start to age

Because it cost 200 dollars and there's really no excuse to cut corners on something like battery life on a super premium controller.

I have a 96W charger close by but that says nothing of how fast it dies, only how fast it charges. Which no one complains about. If youre spending $200 on a controller, it should have better battery life than a potato. Otherwise, what are we actually paying for because battery life is the second most important feature we look for with custom controllers. First for some.

I must be real lucky with controllers because I have never had Dual Sense battery issues with any of my controllers. We'll see if the Edge can continue the streak.
You still use the desk and monitor setup? If so I doubt it really matters much especially considering hard wiring probably isn’t inconvenient at all when you need plug in for a charge.

Isn't it about the same size as the regular controller but is more customizable. Not sure what else was expected but if they could get better battery life the normal controller would have better life too. That's why I keep my Xbox Elite V1 controller that I can just put some Eneloops in. People mocked that for having AA batteries but I have like 6 pairs of Eneloops and when the batteries get low I can just swap them out easily. Also won't have to break that controller open in several years when the battery holds less of a charge to replace them.

I’m personally a fan of the elite v1 rechargeable battery system. Just keep swapping.

The eneloop and ikea batteries held an extremely long charge and I always had more on standby

Nah, in my office at the new house I went with 3 32' monitors for my personal desk and put the TV on the opposite wall of my work setup. I have an adjustable sofa chair i use when gaming so to your point, its no big deal for me to plug into my console if need be.
