I would never deny the Chicago influence and that nikkas learned how to market that type of music from Chicago but that’s only in y’all heads that NY has to be this beacon of originality and can’t take influence after giving the world hip hop. Chicago drill itself is a mashup of different regional influences.
The claim was that NY drill rappers sound like UK drill rappers, sonically it’s just a fact that they don’t.

french never had him on papers it was a co-sign type situation just like he has with kenzo b, people was clowning them because french gave him a weak skinny rope cokeboyz chain and then according to luka he took the money back when the cameras went off, so luka made that video giving him the gumbo chain and money to show "this is how u supposed to step and do right for your artist just coming home"
luka/gumbo signed him to a management deal not a label deal so he technically could still be a part of both movements, like being signed to violator management and having a record deal elsewhere, but for his sake I hope he doesnt sign to cokeboyz because their track record is horrible
