For one Drumline was far from a classic but considering it was somewhat successful and Hollywood lacks original ideas i can see why they did a sequel. It's all about the money and if these producers and companies think they can get a profit they will release a sequel to almost anything these days.

And the first one wasn't a cash cow neither. This was just a bad idea all the way around and you could tell the budget for this movie was small as hell. The writing, the actors they used the locations, all low budget.
you wait for vh1 and other basic cable channels to start making money off black content. we are in a little bonanza of black reality shows, seemingly followed by low budget black tv movies (aaliyah movie also appears timed for this)

i did not expect the sequel to be from 2014.. :dwillhuh: thought it was gonna be some random straight to dvd sequel from 10 years ago


i end up watching drumline and stomp the yard whenever it's on tv :jawalrus:

I still very much enjoy Drumline. Probably Nick Cannon's best performance.


Never seen the sequel and refuse to acknowledge it
Cannon was actually in the sequel playing the same character.

Drumline isn't a classic but nostalgia powerful than a mothafukka , average movie at best
