Haven't seen these mentioned. Not sure if they get talked about a lot but these are fun little gems.
^ Beginning of the film shows every kids dream, than the end of the film shows every kid why it really isn't.
^ I think I talked about both Once Bitten and Earth Girls Are Easy in a Jim Carey topic. Once Bitten is one of those weird 80's sex movies, except it almost seems pro-sex. If you wanted to over think it, you could even make the case that it was an answer to the ultra-violent, anti-sex, slashers of the time. EGAE is just a silly good time.

My parents put me on to the blues brothers, they were really into jazz and blues and all that. It was one of my favorite flicks as a kid.

I never forgot it since the movie haunted me for a long time in my childhood
I heard a sequel was made about the kid with the glasses reopening The Gate after the main character moved away.
It's also getting a remake by Alex Winter (dude that played Bill in Bill and Ted) and H.R. Giger
on the visual effects.

Hmm.. Hard to name some that people aren't already aware of. I'm an 80s kid so I grew up and saw a lot of the most typical popular movies back then that got tons of hype...Superman, Back to the Future, Terminator, Revenge of the Nerds, Police Academy, Star Wars ( still hugely popular in the mid 80s) Alien, etc etc
