no, there is a difference. If you think what Obama is doing to Pakistani kids is bad, you should see what the Romney crew has in mind for Iranian kids

So what you perceive as Romney's potential plans is worse than what President Obama has actually done?

gotta love American bipartisanship :heh:

All about what you can prove, brother...not what you believe.

What can we prove?

World War 1 -democrat
World War 2 - democrat
Korean War - democrat
Vietnam War - democrat
Gulf War - republican
OIF - republican
OEF - republican

both parties got plenty of blood on their hands. The truth is our government plays a perpetual game of "good cop, bad cop" with the world, and it people, that allows both parties to be grimy as fukk in regards to foreign policy.

Its crazy to think the Democrats are any different.

yes I do believe JFK fukked up with his Cold War leanings. But we're not talking about McNamara and Kissinger any more. We're talking about John Bolton & Paul Wolfowitz! Significantly worse than Susan Rice and Hillary's people.

The NYU/Stanford study definitely has some methodological issues:

-Researchers did not even go to FATA
- Based on interviews with 130 people who are somehow connected to drone attacks but few witnesses
- Data coming from groups who are anti-drone and from official Pakistani sources (who are anti-drone on the record)

That being said, the truth of the matter the Americans don't even know how many civilians are being killed. Reliable data is hard to get because the Pak gov't doesn't let journalists into FATA and if you somehow manage it through connections, its always with military escorts.

I look at like this - are drone strikes effective in killing militants? Yes, TTP and AQ have admitted to deaths of leaders. Is the level of collateral damage really minimized? No data to judge this on. Is this counterproductive, in relation to hearts and minds? Most probably, yes. Is this legal and/or moral, especially in terms of executive power? I definitely lean towards no. Is there a better alternative to targeting TTP and AQ in FATA? Probably not.

This was a resonable, rational non-hyperbolic fact-filled post. Dap and + rep.
