This makes no sense to me. So what you're saying is that the New Orleans Saints are willing to fall on the knife and alienate their franchise QB and nearly destroy their organization for the sake of the rest of the NFL? GTFOH.

What kinda point are they proving if they're still gonna sign him? You can't tell me the 25 or so other teams that don't have an elite QB would stay away from Brees just to "prove a point". The Raiders, Vikes, Seahawks, Dolphins, Jags, Cards, Browns would all sign Brees without a second thought right now if they could........Actually I bet Al Davis would sign Brees right now if he was alive. The penalty for signing another team's franchise player is only two first round picks. Al treated first round picks like they were worthless. I would laugh if Brees said fukk it and rode through the season with the Franchise tag then signed with someone else next year.
