I've had locs about 8 years
-Mine are latched and only one woman did them for 7 years, now my wife does them.
- I wash my hair every 10 days or so
- I use a mix of grapeseed, tea tree (just a little), and shea butter
- When i started mine I had a kobe fro.

I would stay away from palm rolled, alot of guys twist them too tight and kill their folicles over time. When ur locs are latched they are loced immediately and require very little product. The downside is if your hair grows slow (mine doesnt) it takes longer to appear to have a longer loc. Either way have a loctitian start them, it will insure balance and symmetry across your whole head. Make sure you keep your locs and scalp oiled.

Stay with it and you too can have the bxtches in awe with your 18+ inch locs

:blessed:

I got 6 and half years of growth but I started with 3-4 inches.

Started with 2 strand twists then carried on with the interlocking/crochet method since then. I’ve never really used any products and I’d say you dont need them but it depends on your hair type I guess.

I started growing out my hair in 2005. Had the Iverson braids for about 4 years until my girl got tired of braiding me up every week. I've been locked ever since then. Wash and retwist my joints about every 10-14 days. I'll post the product I use to wash and twist with later. I'm on a lunch break.

Retwistwith linseed gel.

Moisturise with castor oil.

Go about 3-4 months before retwisting. Wash weekly sometimes more in the summer. Every 2 weeks or sometimes less in the winter.

Retwisting often and tight can speed up balding.

I have about 7 years of locs and they go to my middle back

Haven’t had them done in around 2 years as I went natty, but honking of getting them done again soon. Interlocking seems like the only way it’ll last

I wash monthly. It’s weird as my hair seems to self regulate itself and doesn’t smell.

Cornrows definitely does. fukked up mine

I have a high hairline now. So I don’t create the locs from the front, I have an inch of just Afro and then the loc

Thank you, I heard about it but wasn't 100% certain

You retwist after every wash?

I do but that's only because I'm tenderheaded because after I wash them my shyt gets really tangled and if I don't get a retwist right after it'll fukking hurt if I do it any later :francis:

Some people don't though.

I use to get braids..then I got braids in the front and plaits in the back.....then went to all plaits

I want to say in 05 my mom told me to get dreads and I had them every since.....

I started with beeswax :mjcry: then switched to this yellow loc and cream stuff and I use to get a re twist like once a month but it took me like 2 years to loc up

Now I don't get retwist I just wash them and let them grown and I'm a few inches away from my knee

How long does it take hair to loc? I’ve been getting my hair retwisted regularly since July it still hasn’t
