When the pie you’re dividing is small af how are you going to demand more money :jbhmm:

I always ask my few feminists friends the same question when this demand for equal pay comes up,

Do YOU watch WNBA?

Yeah I thought so :francis:
I think that’s where WNBA players have an argument tho

Skin/Hair companies use kacs as models for these brands when they could use WNBA athletes, like how old spice and head + shoulders uses NFL athletes

Many WNBA players have spoke on this saying companies don’t respect their business

Ironically this is kinda the same thing Roland Martin talks about. Black media suffers because corporations don’t force their marketing to go through black advertising firms and on top of that black media doesn’t get ad dollars because they’re not seen as valuable. It’s a circle of hell that keeps black entertainment down.

This is absolutely true and white people will say right to your face black audiences don't have money.

See this is what they should be doing and seems like a great move. But then that would require ad agencies to actually be serious about making this brand connections. It’s not hard but they seem to not even be trying. The fact they don’t do this in the first place is just wild to me.

Candace Parker scoffed at Shaq on national TV because he made a legit suggestion to make it more exciting by lowering the rim. WNBA will never prosper, because just like women in real life, they just want to rant and complain and will reject all logical solutions to their complaints.

I get what Draymond is saying, but this is sports. You can market players all you want, but they have to be marketable first. And they become marketable by being good athletes and doing amazing things. Sports is probably the only thing in this world that is truly based on merit w/o politics as for who gets pushed/more money. So just pouring money into the WNBA doesn't make sense because it is not a lack of funds that makes it uninteresting. It is already uninteresting to begin with.

So until these women figure out a way to make themselves marketable, LeBron will continue to make in bonuses what their entire league makes in a year. And nobody cares about their complaints because they are refusing to do anything about it except look towards men to bail them out.....even though they are just as good :sas2:

They def have enough pretty players to advertise as beauty symbols/sex symbols and that’s what attracts people of both genders to the product

there are many women who watch NBA/NFL strictly because they stan an athlete. WNBA doesn’t do a great job corporate wise giving their athletes exposure. I think they are talented enough, Candace Parker should be a global superstar imo

Its one of them. The stars of the league aren't the best looking players. All the WNBA players I can think of off top are either average or ugly, except Skylar.
Skylar is a pretty woman
Liz Cambage is pretty
A’ja Wilson is pretty
Sue Bird is old but she’s pretty
Delle Donne is pretty
Candace Parker is pretty

I will be naming pretty girls all day, there’s a lot of good lookin women in the WNBA
