You're right, it's not some wild comparison.
It's a stupid one.
You ever hear an older brother admit that they'll give their younger sibling a hard time, but they won't allow someone from outside the family or even household to take liberties with their kid brother or sister?
The same thing applies. Teammates bust each other's chops incessantly. Locker room and practice field fights are a common occurrence. However, they're supposed to rally around each other when another squad is violating. It's team code. It's family code. It's man code.
Are you nikkas actually sports fans???
Which brings me back to the question I asked @tuckdog: If there's a guy on the team that's such a bag of shıt that NO ONE will defend him during a physical altercation, then why the hell is he even on the team?
Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe he is a bad teammate? has it crossed your mind that maybe, just maybe they feel that he wouldn't go that hard for them in return?
Speaking of dumbass comparisons, you just compared a blood related immediate family member, to some MF who you're contractually obligated to play basketball with. The fxck?
Just because they wear the same jersey don't always means there's that level of respect. Usually it does but not always. They're co-workers at the end of the day. I ain't saying what they should or shouldn't have done, I'm pointing out what might be at play here. These guys are pro athletes they've been in locker rooms since they were 6 years old. You think they don't understand team code? It's possible dude is just a dikkhead who's on the team to block and rebound. They might be cooler with Dray than they are with Gobert for all we know.
