Draymond and Baron Davis on why this generation don’t want to be face of the league…. Never thought about it but they might be right 🤔

To be face of the league you have to give up your life and get major scrutiny

And every step your being watched

And issues with woman your shade room fodder

Every missed shot

Every turnover

I don’t see anyone willing to do that

Maybe Cade Cunningham on the US born players idk

And when nikkas say these young nikkas have no love or respect for the game, they getvcalled haters, but these nikkas sugarcoating the same shiit and yall saying "hey they got a point"
I disagree

I think they love the sport

But also they want to live their lives but not the constant scrutiny

You can make 500 million not even counting endorsements

Without your face everywhere and on the debate shows

Watching your every move at this point being drafted to a small market team seems like a gift

These dudes ain’t good enough or have that star power to be face of the league like Bird, Magic, Jordan, Kobe, Iverson, Steph, LeBron
Disagree

Cade is good

Ant is good

Zion

Ja

Yes they all have some issues

But it comes down to not wanting to have your life picked apart

There is FAR LESS benefit to being the "face of the NBA" than there used to be.

You can make an insane amount of money, hoop, and go home without being that.

Why would you want First Take leading with some bullshyt hot take every day about you?

This is a discussion the media is really trying to force, and it's not just this sport either. But the truth is the media, hell, not even the league determines who's their face. That is gonna be a position that the public will be the one to anoint. And tradition has shown that its gonna be somebody with a entertaining style and a winner. They just gotta let this shyt play out with the vets in their twilight. When it happens, ain't gone be no questions. It'll be evident who's the people's champ.

The bottom 2 barely play, Cade is not good enough and Ant has all the tools but for some reason, he doesn't get enough attention. Just pay attention to his AS game voting numbers every year, I am surprise he doesn't get as much as the young guys. He is honestly the only guy with the game, charisma and creativity to be the face (American born player).

They just don’t love the game like that. People love to blame the biggger contracts but like B Davis has said when you adjust for inflation, the money isn’t much different from early 2000s salaries. KG got a $120 million contract in ‘97 after two years in the league and we see the passion he still played with.

The candidates are already making a lot of money and the extra hassle is probably not worth it to them because of the extra pressure and scrutiny
They already getting paid the maximum so what's the point?

Gen Z thrives off being more than just what they do for work.

All this love of the game stuff is BS
