you're watching another mans pockets and gossiping like a bytch.

you have no ideas about intricacies of drakes deal or publishing breakdow not to mention the fact that IYRTITL was more of a mix tape full of samples. Where was this thread for NTWS or Take care?

but imma let you cook.... just wondering what you get out of all this.

you sound really concerned about this all

you said, we dont know about the intracacies of the publishing breakdowns for drake. so we shouldn't be gossiping

yet youre here making excuses and gossiping with the rest of us.

gotta either :cape: or :dame:. cant be both breh

even with samples you speak of, its the producer who usually takes the majority of the hit on publishing when it comes to rocking with a sampled beat, right? depending on the deal for the song obv, but the producer who came to the table with a sample in their beat is prolly gonna get got for publishing first, and then the songwriters would take whatever hit is negotiated on it as well, but tends to be lesser since they still have publishing for their actual lyrics

It really makes you wonder why the highest selling rapper today isn't getting that much money for his publishing. I mean, either Birdman is finessing Drake something serious, or multiple people have their hands in his pocket due to contributions.

This is why I think it's great if you're a rapper that knows how to produce, because like J. Cole, you can save a lot of money while being in complete control of how your projects sound. Drake's numbers should be way higher than what it is.

Because it's all an act...like degrassi

if your reading this is too late and what a time to be alive were mix tapes.

sure he eventually put it on itunes but thats cause of the 20 million dollar deal he signed with apple music. They werent albums.

Taylor Swfits album was a late 2014 release, basically a 2015 release (why she it won the grammy that year)

but if you want to believe that drake is simply spilliting billions of dollars with millions of writers then.... cook.
No he's splitting it with:birdman:...that 98 / 2 % split:myman:

I don't believe those numbers. You're telling me pop singers that are handheld through the entire process of creating an album are get more in publishing than fukking Drake :why:. Drake's numbers should be higher in spite of having writers himself lol. And J. Cole out here stacking his money and living and looking like a NYC homeless man :wow:

Taylor and her team of lawyers have muscled their way through the industry and that's probably why her publishing numbers are looking the way they do
Drake is still a black male...we always gotta go far and beyond for ours....even if u mixed and c00nin for your other half

Taylor Swift is said to be a bonafide songwriter. Say what you will but none of her song credits are looking anything like a Kanye West credit
Taylor swift may be a song writer...but let's all keep in mind that she's writing songs to 12 and 13 year old girls...she's good at it...but I don't know if she a Hemingway.(still Britney couldn't write to newborns :mjlol:)

also helps to be a rapper who can write your own songs thats 50% writing credit even if you dont make the beat

To be real though how many rappers were on that list? He's apparently doesn't have the golden goose deal dudes thought but a lot of rappers wish they could make 7.5 million of music/touring alone.
Some rappers not nearly as hot make a mil or so from tours too though, even regionally (Cali, the south)...that isn't impressive for the "giant" we've been made to believe drake is...hip hop morals aside, I personally hope he gets his money, I don't fukk with anybody being robbed ...shyt ain't right:stopitslime:
