Drake was singing I'm So Proud of You and simping left and right before Versace. After that his music got darker and had that street edge he lacked before it. If not, then explain to me when Drake went from a lame to being taken seriously.

And Put On dwarfed what Can't Tell Me Nothing did. He wasn't certified til that verse.

You're right about it being the OG version though. That's my mistake.

Take Care had "Underground King" and "We'll Be Fine". Drake was still simping after "Versace". He's always had songs that were darker with a street edge going back to "Up All Night" from Thank Me Later.

"Can't Tell Me Nothin" was the song that got Kanye the streets. That's one of the reasons he was able to beat 50. He released "Can't Tell Me Nothin" before releasing the more commercial "Stronger" and "Good Life". "Can't Tell Me Nothing" is when Kanye started boasting about being the hood favorite. That song pretty much led to "Put On" seeing as how he was supposed to be on Jeezy's "I Get Money". "Can't Tell Me Nothing" is what that song was supposed to be, but it wasn't finished in time. "Put On" was the first appearance of 808's & Heartbreaks Ye. His appearance on that song was the prelude to that album.
