The future stans re writing history are killing me. Didn't Drake give future his first hit, Didn't Drake take Future out on world tour with him after "Take Care" dropped ? Doesn't drake have one of the 2 rap albums that went platinum this year ?

So how is he getting a future stimulus ?? Looking forward to the album tho.

Drake is very much a popular artist, but he's always looked to the hood for credibility and now that his artistry has been questioned, he can distract everyone by dropping a mixtape with the most popular hood artist active right now. Drake's brand has some chinks in its armor that needs fixing

That trend-hopping of smaller artists allows him to switch up, steal something from them, look like a trendsetter instead of a jacker, and keep "evolving" as an artist without much of a backlash.

He's definitely influenced by Kanye in that regard. We also found out that their songwriting process is similar. The results are there no doubt, but it's just wack to me for some reason. That moment where they start playing catch up instead of being the innovator
