What? Literally none of this happened. I think you confusing message board shyt and real life shyt. If anything they said Nas went too far and cancelled his concert at Hot 97 when he was about hang an effigy of Jay on stage. All that other shyt you talking about was straight stan :hamster:shyt.

That is my point. I think a few artists were vocal about it too especially when magazines were putting "Ether" against "Super Ugly".

lol....what?

I don't remember any of the shyt you're talking about, as far as fans. I don't recall anyone on or off the internet complaining about either side went too far. Like I said, Jungle was on the radio during that Nas interview clowning the dog shyt outta Jay for his mom jumping in....and people loved it.

You gotta stop using stans as a base line for what's happening. They don't reflect reality. They're like....1% of the actual people reacting to this stuff.

Fred.

Breh, didn't you just say it was Drake stans out here saying there was a line crossed. And yes, posters on message boards were definitely arguing over lines being crossed during that battle.

Yes, in stark contrast to Jay vs Nas. :gucci:

Where? What boards? I was on SOHH and nobody gave a fukk. People posted that Nas/Jungle interview clowning Jay for his mom criticizing him, for literally a solid decade after that.

You really think people gave a fukk about being PC....in 2001? :dahell:

There was a ton of super disrespectful lines going around during that time. 50 threatened Ja's kid on "Back Down", the album went diamond. Nobody gave a fukk.

Matter of fact, never mind the internet. Because the internet wasn't really popping like that in 2001. You seriously think rap fans, in 2001, were like :whoa: "he went too far breh!"

Who? Where? :mjtf:
Nobody I personally knew. Not a single person. Cats would've went in on you for suggesting a rap battle went too far....in 2001. :mjlol:

Breh, rap fans were definitely talking about they went too far. Even dude who brought it up recalls it. And yes rap fans in 2001 were like that. I remember when "Ether" debuted on the radio here and how sensitive people were in their responses. When Nas dropped "Ether" few people, it made some people feel uncomfortable (particularly the lines about Jay's lips). Same goes for Jay with the lines about the baby seat. People even called out Cam for what he said about Destiny.

Man, where? Be specific. I told you the message board I was on. I'll tell you the city I was in, down to the exact address, too.

Where was you, and who was you around, in 2001....where people were complaining about a rap beef going too far? :dahell:

Matter of fact, let's play devil's advocate. Let's say rap fans were up in arms back then.

Cam said he'd piss on Nas daughter. Jay said he'd leave condoms on a baby seat. These were in songs in heavy rotation among rap fans.

That is not in the same ballpark as random people on social media cracking jokes about Drake's kid. And Pusha T said nothing disrespectful about the kid, so why are people comparing these situations? :what:

Man shyt is going to get real when his son gets older and pulls up Story of Addidon. Only diss Drake could is buy pusha's masters and make sure this track is removed from every streaming platform.

Nobody was even comparing Pusha T. I was responding to a poster who said nobody said anything back when Jay said the baby seat line, which is clearly false.

It doesn't matter that the songs were in heavy rotation among Hip Hop fans. I remember people complaining. Eminem sold 10 million records. Didn't stop people protesting his music for being homophobic (and this was before LGBQT was as open as it is now) and yes the world was less PC. Still O'Reilly had the O'Reilly factor and got Ludacris removed from Pepsi commercials because of his content and had attacked other Hip Hop artists for the same. Point is, yes there were people within and outside of Hip Hop who complained about both Nas and Jay crossing lines. I can show you a piece from Angie Martinez's book where she mentions how people felt Jay crossed lines.
