post Take Care Drake is very over-rated.

I never expected him to take a social stance, its not really his job. I'm like "just rap good nikka." But he failed at that.

Now dont even get me started on this latest piece of garbage he recently released.

I never seen people get so excited about music they never heard.

Everyone is like he bout to do 500k....uh did you hear it first?

when did a project that no one heard that sells a lot = classic? :wtf:

fukk him. I'm hating until he drops good music again. Till then I am looking for one of the other light skinned brothers to take that spot....

Kirko, J.Carr, Tyga, J. Cole, Quincy, Masspike...etc

where yall at?

Cole been had that spot he always been better than drake

Drake is out here creating music to fill a certain lane. And he speaks on things from his perspective.

J Cole wouldn't even put this so called "pro-black song" he did on letterman on his album but rather chose to do a one-off performance of it and even then, since he includes a few lines about "being black" on the album that therefore he's a better "artist"

Sorry.

This is ENTERTAINMENT.

The music comes first.

The message comes second.

If you want me to love you more because you're socially conscious, then you need to make better MUSIC cause if your shyt sucks, not only will I never listen again, i'll wonder why you didn't learn to WRITE BLOGS or give lectures or make books.

If the content matters so much to you, go be a poet...but don't call it "music"

Even Gil Scott Heron learned the principles of music and creatively weaved messages into INCREDIBLE sonic landscapes....

This whole "consciousness" argument is a deflection from having to engage the fact that these so-called "aware" celebrities not only don't give a fukk about you, but they're pandering to people to try and get them to like them by pretending to be "up on game" when in reality they're doing just as much as the artist who isn't saying shyt at all.

But Cole does make better music though

Because I legitimately think people dont give Drake enough credit or respect. Period.

Drake is MORE LYRICALLY DEXTERIOUS in flipping words creatively and putting them together than I've EVER heard from Kendrick

Kendrick is a spitter...but he doesn't really do much more than surface level communication. Drake has layers and entendres that I haven't seen anyone do since Outkast, Hov, or anyone in that similar vein.

Dude is truly and seriously that talented.

Gtfoh with that Drake is not lyrically dexterious at all he ass average as it can get. This is why people hate drake stans they make him out to this lyrical beast when hes not. He is no where near better than kendrick lyrcially not even close

Always just thought dude was an R&B singer. Always had that lane. I give him props for that. I dont take the raps and tough talk serious but I know the ladies love the tender notes and R&B vibe.

Just never thought that many dudes were into it too.:shaq:

yea Drake is overrated

I mean I'm kinda a fan of him and I've heard all his albums & mixtapes except for Thank Me Later but he's not as nice as his stans say he is. His subject matter is repetitive (the soft simp shyt gets annoying after awhile), honestly he doesn't have much subject matter. He don't really be saying anything :heh:
he can't sing but he insists on doing it anyway, and plus he isn't as lyrical as some people say he is. I've heard people say he's a great lyricist:mjlol::bryan:

He's a good artist for sure, and when he's on, he's good lyrically but that's not all the time. I'd say he's average to above average lyrically most of the time

I like his early stuff better (Comeback Season :wow:)

You were spot on thats what pisses me off the most the most when people say hes great lyrically hes defiantly not he has his moments tho

There is nothing lol worthy about that, as a fan of both who has listened to their entire catalogs I can tell you Cole is not better than Drake. Only thing Cole has on Drake is substance and storytelling (arguable).

Drake has every other aspect of MCing on him, double entendres, puns, punchlines, metaphors, far far better flow. Cole has never come close to pulling a double time flow like Drake on a song like HYFR. Drake has better projects from a commercial and critical perspective as well as general consensus. Cole's been outrapped by Drake on the same track and everything. If you listen to Cole and Drake they actually aren't that different stylistically at all. Drake and Cole stans are the same people.

A top 25 Drake verse list vs. A top 25 J. Cole verse list? Cole ain't seeing Drake.

I completely disagree with everything you said

Nah, I personally think 50 Cent was the most overrated rapper of the last 15 years...

Drake is soild, maybe I don't think he is THAT overrated because most people I know don't rate him that highly

Nobody I know think he is the best rapper out. They will acknowledge he is the most successful rapper out now and versatile. But as far rapping and spitting goes. Nah.. I can't think of a verse that Drake has spit where I was truly impressed by his rapping skills

So Cole has better metaphors, double entendres, punchlines than Drake? :what:

Cole's flow is better when he can't even double time and raps over the same production time and time again? :what:

I think the above is basically indisputable...

Drake's projects aren't more acclaimed? Check MetaCritic breh

Everything I said is valid and from the perspective of a fan of both who has listened to their whole catalogs even The Come Up and Room for Improvement.

KungFu Fighting & kicks that are fast as Lightning
And when Mike Brown, kajime powell, tamir rice, John crawford, Eric garner, akai Gurley got gunned down by racist cops...where the fukk was this nikka? Nowhere to be found.

No one really considers Drake to be black or be able to relate to anything black or hood related so no one cared that he was silent.

I don't know about overrated but he's definitely the softest nikka I've ever seen in rap.

When u got Common, COMMON of all people coming at ur neck saying ur soft then you're most likely softer than a babies bottom
