The delay could mean UMG is cooperating with him outside of court / off the books, in effort to suppress certain information from going public. Payout or settlement feels imminent.

I'm doubling down on my theory that is all about the superbowl and here is why. I dont think his case is that strong unless UMG was very sloppy with the payola cause we all can agree they do it for all their artist including Drake himself (Maybe he doesn't require as much payola as a lessor artist but it probably happens in some form).

But I don't think he cares about winning the case. He will file his lawsuits in sometime in January and because its a defamation lawsuit where he claims his brand is actively being damaged he can ask the judge to prevent sales, plays and distribution of Not like us until the matter is resolved in court. Songs get pulled from streaming services all the time while in active litigation (Normally for people using unauthorized samples etc) so this isnt anything unheard of. But what it will effectively do if he times it right, would prevent Kendrick from performing the song during the superbowl if UMG has to pull it temporarily.

Kendrick was almost certainly not performing NLU at the SB in its entirety or at all...at best it would have been a setup for the second part of TV Off because I wouldn't be shocked to see Mustard on stage. GNX was strategic because most of his 12-15 minutes performing will consist of tracks from it.

At this point, I wouldn't be shocked if we get a quick freestyled 16 over the beat just because.

This is just a SLAPP lawsuit In a state with Relaxed SLAPP laws and he is stalling as much as possible to get close as possible to the Superbowl. UMG is based in California but they fished for a court and picked a court in Texas for defamation and the other half of the lawsuit in NYC instead of California where this shyt wouldn't fly for a second
