the only reason i can see UMG doing this is if drake was planning to leave UMG after his contract was over.

however, drake was calling for kendrick to drop and had to have known the powers that be wanted to take him down... so why even bother getting into a big rap beef while negotiating when you know they can manipulate data. payola and botting has been around for a long time and Cole even mentioned artists faking their streams in 'a lot'. this just seems like a deflection from the battle and disses that came from it.
drake doesn’t mind the disses…its the p3do shyt where he’s like…aight this isn’t gonna stand anymore. And to be honest, people die over shyt like that.

It's hilarious watching, in real time, Drake stans left dazed and confused at the one thing [popularity] their mans had over everyone else, only to have the floor vanish beneath them. They can't get their heads around the fact that Kendrick not only beat their mans in a battle, in its most primordial state, but managed to grab the public's attention with both hands and not let go.

Kendrick took center stage and told that Jew in Blackface to exit stage left.

If it was one thing that Drake stans could've rested their laurels on, is that the public would be playing and reciting his disses more, even if they weren't better, they could still be kingmakers of that, and they'd walk away convincing themselves they'd won. Except Kendrick came through and had the whole country singing his shyt like he was a popstar.

Even Drake is still having a hard time processing how he got beat at his own game.

:lolbron:
Disingenuous af.

Drake always had way more haters than Kendrick and Kendrick always had the white vote on his side which is massive when we're talking about something that is ultimately decided by public opinion via social media.

Act like the industry darling was the underdog, brehs.
How the hell are you going to accuse me of being disingenious and then claim Kendrick is the "industry darling"?

Drake's entire career was started, fueled and propagated by the industry.

Nothing about him is organic.

Why do you think that each and every shot that has been directed at him throughout has been centered around him being the antithesis of the culture?

More to the point - the same public who've been reciting Drake's shyt for the last decade were the same ones reciting Not Like Us, so how could you possibly reconfigure which side the public was on beforehand if they, by default, were on Drake's side, or more specifically, played his music more than Kendrick's. That's what you lame ass Drake groupies were counting on, that his popularity beforehand would sway the public because y'all made the mistake of thinking that because they've been bumping his shyt for the last 10+ years, without interruption, they'd continue doing it here.

And the rest, well, the rest is history.

And no amount of revisionism will change that.
