:what:

Either you're slow or you have terrible memory.

Rich Boy had a platinum single around that time did like 100k first week....Wayne was a certified platinum artist....Trey Songz got a Grammy nom for his single....Little Brother I'll give you....Clipse was also a platinum group.....

So what are you talking about? Go record a rap album with no industry connections and see if you can get comparable artists on a mix tape. You can't....Drake was a plant. Again, I said "ok cool" but knock it off rewriting history.

Exactly....dude left off Wayne, as if an artist building shyt from the ground up would just randomly get a Wayne feature directly before signing to him....but his rise to fame was organic. :mjlol:

Fred.
Wayne isn't technically on the mixtape it's just his hook from Brisco/Flo Rida's Man of The Year with Drake's verses. It's like Lupe Fiasco being featured on Room for Improvement, because Drake added his verse to Kick Push. Drake and Trey were personal friends, Drake met Trey at a video shoot in Toronto when Drake was underground.

Clipse was not a Platinum group, they went Gold at their peak and that was only once. Malice is hardly a star, Drake had Degrassi dough he could afford to pay Malice, Elzhi and Little Brother for features they aren't exactly pricey features. There's Coli rappers with Skyzoo, Kirko Bangz, Sadat X features on their tapes. If you have money you can get a feature.

Comeback Season dropped on January of '07 he hadn't officially met Wayne yet. At this time Drake was being pursued by Mo Town/Soul and allegedly Rocafella. He didn't meet Wayne till he started fukking with Rap-A-Lot and J Prince's son. If this tape had all this label backing why is the Replacement Girl video so low budget, how come it didn't get play past 106 & Park, how come most don't even know about the tape? Real talk you had to be on the internet heavy to know about the tape and Drake.

His mixtape had features with Trey Songz, Rich Boy, Malice, Little Brother and Wayne but he isn't manufactured.

I'm not even knocking these plants....it's just part of the game any more....but come the fukk on. Don't rewrite history.

Fred.

Comeback Season was his second mixtape. His first Room for Improvement didn't have any of those "big" features on it. Had plenty of time to build some hype and connections after the first tape.

The cause
"Oh yeah, I'm on deck when you call me I'll listen
I listen unless I been mixin', you know when I'm mixin'
You know when I'm mixin', I smoke when I drink, it's tradition

Peace sign in the air like I'm Nixon
I'm mixin', I am not Esco but it was written
I knew when they didn't, I been had these visions
Of the life I'm livin' since I was Jimmy
All I just had to do was go and get it, and now we..."

The rich boy feature was a little weird considering he was at his peak of popularity and most didn't know who the fukk drake was

Wayne was on So Far Gone.
Yes but he was about to sign with Cash Money then.
That was after Jas had sent Wayne Drakes music and they were about to sign him (or had already signed him). They probably had a mutual agreement at that point. Best I ever had was distributed by Cash Money just some months after the mixtape.
