Suddenly everyone a alternative or electronic expert but I've been on this bytch 10 years and aint seen 99% of ya'll cats acting brand new post in the lounge :mjlol:

stop faking the funk to stan.
So because you didn’t see folk in alt and electronic threads they somehow faking? The fact Drake jumped in mofos should be happy he’s bringing new ears to a genre that’s never been mainstream like that..

You should be happy nstead of trying to be a pseudo gate keeper

Worst part about "Honestly, Reggie" is he's going to pop up around September, October over some lavish, airy sounding instrumental with no humming, whoas!, or autotune sounding bored talking about

"From this high up you can take swings and miss
Chubbs said it'll just go over their heads
Might even effect they lists
Tried to give tropical flavors and nikkas talking misses
Same time they baby moms fed up
Track 9 going while she doing dishes
I was in the Tropics that whole summer and nikkas never saw they misses/missus
Yeah"

And you gonna have nikkas like @BigMoneyGrip and all the 6 angels talking about

"Ooooooohhhhhhh get em DADDY, he's so versatile :noah:, THE BOY is BYKE :gladbron:"

And the stans will just reset the timer to the 2023 album you know it's coming lol. This same shyt comes from an up and comer with a big budget behind it, the label's embarrassed and they're on the shelf till Q4 of '24 lol

They have too much money behind Drake, so the executives are going to make him put out a new album to course correct by this time next year, probably earlier, and you are going to have Lil Baby and Future all throughout it. If it were a rising artist, though, their career probably would be over, though

I'm not gatekeeping, I just said the people who are acting like you need such and such to appreciate drake weedplate are goofy especially since I never seen them speak on anything resembling the genre he sharking. If this causes people to listen to better music (it won't, people are simple) great. I could post literally hundreds of dope electronic tracks and more often than not folks gon be like ahhhh look at this cac shyt all while hyping up Aubrey trash ass record :dwillhuh:

And I don't even dislike Drake. NWTS one of my favorite rap albums and almost a classic to me. but this shyt is huff.

But that’s the entire point a major mainstream global artist like Drake got causals talking about alt electronic house music.. I think that’s a win in terms of brining in new ears who wouldn’t even listen to this type of music on their own… Folk can have their opinion about drake but what makes his different that your average rappers are he can go into other genres of music and not be scared to do so where most if not all mainstream hip hop artist wouldn’t dare branch into another genre of music

I personally think this Drake album is dope, even if you take him off of it the production is clearly carrying him and the album..

I mean thats fair. and honestly I could you see your take making sense to a lot of folks. But if you do have a knowledge of the genres he taking a stab at it borders on comedy cuz its such a hollow imitation. I'mma do a experiment on my SM and see if the folks who feeling drake album want to dabble in other artists and see what happen lol.

The crazy thing is yes the production is carrying him which means his vocals are so trash its distracting. he could have cudi hummed over this shyt instead and it would have made the album better by leaps.

And I like Drake when he in his singing bag usually. hold on were going home, Passionfruit, one dance, take care all dope asf to me. I cant get jiggy with this though :hubie:

I'm a big electronic head and basically dance several times a week.

This in its current iteration would get no spins at any function I frequent. It'll get played by low skill djs looking to ride the current wave but I dont fukk with that type of scene so :yeshrug:

as a dance/house/electronic/alt...record its aggresively mediocre. Drake fans acting like you need taste to like this are also hilarious because its so ironic.

drone singing over dance beats isn't some new shyt. Usually called darkwave/synth, ebm, synthpop etc

INB4 I'm a cac for posting this btw. I'll be taking ban bets if you want to take that path :ld:

I actually like crystal castle and i'm black as fukk. don't compare drake's album to them, that's NOTHING alike

I'm not comparing them he asked "how do you dance fans feel about dope dance beats and droning vocals" and I said its not really anything new and posted some examples. Maybe crystal castles is more drenched in reverb than droning but you get the gist of what I was trying to say.

I would never compare Drake to CC as CC2 in my top ten favs oat Drake can't sniff that record come on now :mjlol:

Good for summer. Fallin Back has to have some very popular EDM sample, I have heard that break before in a club.

That manifesto for the album though? That sounds like a 22 year old club kid notes he posts on IG. That was hilarious. Dude is like 34.

Fallin Back is going to be remixed, like someone said, that will be the song in every lounge/club and "event experience" restaurants.

"Honestly Nevermind" imagine myself saying that to someone, it's a pretty affected phrase.

It's going to be 2011 all over again when everyone jumped on the EDM wave

That is not going to happen. They only did that because of those songs being successful to be honest, and Adele is the one who ended that. The Drake songs are not shaping up to be that. When they see how bad the numbers are for someone as infallible as Drake, they are not going to be trying to recreate that

Drake wishes that anything on his project sounded as great as this. Even Elton John stated that is one of the best songs ever. You Drake stans exacerbate the reaction the the project when you make those lofty ass claims because the music just does not support that. The hilarity of the stans trying to act as if Drake is avante garde is just...
