You can't just go of one metric like length of career :what:
Fabolous is as popular as Eminem in that case, Drake as The Beatles, Asap Rocky as BIG.

Drake has been the #1 or #2 rapper for 7 straight years like top 5 artist in any genre, not just on average but every single year. I mean you've really got to hate dude if you are even trying to argue about this.

So u really gonna put Nas' 20 years up against Drakes 7 years huh??

If Drake falls off in 2 years then Nas will overlap in popularity by default just off his current rep alone.....

That Fab/Em comparison was terrible by the way....for one Em came first and was around during Fabs prime, unlike Drake with Nas.

Em came in 99, Fab in 2001 so they're only two years apart in popularity according to your mathematics.

I don't know what length of career and substantiality of ones popularity has to do with anything.
Birdman >> Drake in terms of popularity given that length of career is the only thing that matters.

Of course one hit wonder is one thing, but Drake has 5 albums, 5th most HOT100 songs of all times and 7th most Top 40 songs of all times,
he sells out stadium all over the world, wins mad awards, and this is what he's been doing for 7 straight years, every year. We're talking about a dude that makes as much as JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs CEOs combined, from recording songs.

You can use one metric, I can use 25. But your metric >>>>>>>> all the other I guess.

E-40 >> Led Zeppelin, fukk that they sold 2-300 million records.

U said if the country felt that Nas' Illmatic was GOAT then it wouldnt have taken 7 years to go platinum. But KRS, G Rap and Kane never went platinum yet those 3 names have been given the nods for the GOAT title. thats how u are wrong.
LMAO so you're comparing an album by nas to 3 other artists entire career? wtf are you talking about?
Plus neither of these artist's peak popularity was during the same era as nasir's.
Also, you said "NYC,the only place that matters" when referencing Illmatic's stature.
I said if the rest of the country was as moved by illmatic as much as you claimed NYC was, then it would have done better vs his competition at that moment.
Which is an accurate assessment.

LOL...do the math tho

Nas was more popular then Drake from 1994 till around 2010 Thats 16 years of popularity.

U gonna really put the 7 years Drake been popping up against Nas' 16 ?? :russ:
:mjlol: I'm a nas fan too but can you stop blatantly telling lies.
Nas hasnt had a platinum project since 2004 (nikkas was still selling millionS)
And that project was a double cd meaning not even a million people purchased it (though he deserves the official plat credit)

:stopitslime:

Yet u ignored the OP who took someone who's been out for a few months and compared him to Drake who's been around for 7.

:what:

So Birdman is more popular then Drake but Nas isn't??

U just shot yourself in the head..

1994 - 2004 is still 10 years fool.

10 years is longer then 7 years which Drake has been active.

:sas2:
Didnt shoot myself at all. Drake has been a (proven) top tier artist for most of those years. Nas has not been near the top since the nineties,if ever. And his peak was never remotely as big as drake's
