People didn't even listen to this song and went straight to Kendrick. U can tell by how people are actually coming back to this song for the first time in this thread. What kinda battle is it when people don't even listen to all the tracks in the battle? Lol. People just aren't interested in Drake anymore. Lol

It's because everyone know Drake ain't writing his own raps breh :yeshrug:

That's an automatic DQ. This would be like Puff coming at Nas or Jay in 1998. shyt would've been seen as comical even if he was getting A+ bars from Jada.

The fact Kendrick was able to completely and utterly make this track obsolete within MINUTES of it releasing is legit one of the greatest feats in Hip Hop history

This song would’ve legit been a battle ender for 98% of the game. I don’t even know if Cole would’ve been able to withstand this. Drake’s writers were in their BAG with this one
It wasn’t Kendrick who made this song obsolete, it was people hating on Drake and wanting to see him lose. Family Matters is by far the best track of any of the diss songs

If that's the case Kendrick shouldn't have engaged. I don't think Drake is Diddy. Lol.

I agree Drake much better than Puff was as a rapper, but he been exposed too many times for using reference tracks on big songs, you know? Not just dudes helping with hooks or workshopping verses, writing his whole shyt and flow. And that's just what we know for sure.

I disagree about not engaging, because Drake been presenting himself as some GOAT tier rap artist and from the sound of things been moving greasy and disrespectful behind the scenes for years. It was past time for someone with a similar platform to put him in his place. Push smacked him up but Drake and his stans was able to play that off to a degree because Push don't have the status or platform like Kendrick. This time they can't play it off.

Drake is worse than Diddy. Diddy readily admitted he hired writers. Everyone from top tier lyricists such as Nas and Biggie down to of the moment hitmakers like Lil Zane and Yung Berg have written for him and he never hid it.

Drake tried to pass himself as a GOAT tier writer. Doing Sprite commercials with lyrics written by Nas, Biggie, and Rakim being celebrated while lyrics written by Quentin Miller were attributed to Drake. The nikka is a whole fraud and Kendrick’s one of the only ones who stood on business when they figured that out and said “F U C K that nikka AND his stimulus”

I would never engage with an artist in a rap battle that I didn't respect as a rapper and didnt write they shyt. Period. I would keep brushing him off as goofy. But my main point was that people only listened to one end of the battle. Which in turn doesn't even make it a battle. It's useless. What's the point in celebrating it? Lol.

I didn't listen to a single Drake song in this whole thing because I've never bought what he was selling

And I respect that. There's a lot of artists that did exactly that.

But I also respect Kendrick saying enough is enough :yeshrug:

The reality is it doesn't matter what he released unless he had a anthem ready. He had a slim chance to win especially with not being prepared for kendrick flooding the market with music. But in reality he had no shot with kendrick has a whole coalition supporting and pushing his music. Drake needed some people on his team or neutral in this battle. The cultural shyt on europhia stuck with the masses, even had my teenager rapping it. Knew it was over then
