You know, I didn't want to bring this up in fear of being written-off as a hater. But now that it's on the table, a lot of his hits and styles came from sharking Toronto nikkas projects. He use to be the only outlet so dudes had to give their best work to him in hopes to get on.
TO artists can make their own moves now and are not feeding him the hits no more. Without sharking other artists projects, he's just regular at best.
How can you be labeled a hater for speaking the truth? Fire is hot. Water is wet. And Drake uses ghostwriters. These aren’t guesses their FACTS

I'm not buying this for the simple fact that OVO is still feeding him hits and do you really think Toronto artists were the only artists in the world sending him ideas? When you're on that level you get sent shyt regardless of whether you use ghoswriters or not. Best believe the best beats, hooks, etc are sent to people like Beyonce, Kanye, Hov, Kdot, etc all the time.

Party is an amazing writer and still in the camp. dvsn is still in the camp. OVO got plenty of writers, and Drake had a hit (Laugh Now Cry Later)...he simply couldn't drop at that time (pandemic, injury, etc).
I think the bigger issue is Drake sticks to the same script and that script is getting old. Predicting his demise is always iffy because all it takes is the right beat/hook for him to have a smash hit.
You proved my point. OVO is not TO. Look at the OVO roster, it's all washed artists he already sharked. He can't get the new cats onboard to keep his ideas and style fresh.
He gets sent tracks from artist all over, but he's not hitting the someway back in the day. He's sticking to the same script because the new blood in TO going their own way.

I like the album but I’m failing to see the logic of naming it something so decisive n outlandish as Certified Lover Boy cause let’s be honest none of Drakes albums sound as unique as this one. I was expecting a thematic sound or subject matter that plays a part especially since he was cutting a heart in his damn hair for a year. Songs like race my mind, TSU n champagne poetry followed what I would expect to be a more somber Drake project but it’s jus a standard album by him outside some tracks. A track like knife talk dont fit wit the album title I’m really lost as to why he said people won’t like this album at first before it dropped cause I assumed he meant it’d have some out there departures from his previous works. When views first came out I ain’t like it but as the years went on I appreciated it n how focused Drake was on there especially wit a song like feel no ways which is one of the more experimental songs he’s ever done.

This assumes TO is leading the waves which isn’t true. There are top tier songwriters everywhere, but especially LA and Atlanta.
What was Weeknd, PND, Majid Jordan leading before Drake? Nothing. They still fed him songs that were not only real smash hits, but they helped build Drake style and separated him from other artists.
Just because you don't see a wave doesn't mean something isn't there.
You get tracks from LA and Atlanta writers, you just sound like everyone else.
