Off-season ain’t Cole’s best album it’s an okay album like all of his other ones. Cole’s best work was in his mixtape days where he was hungry.100%. The Off-Season was made by one of Drake's contemporaries, someone a year older than him, and it could very well be the best album they ever made. King's Disease II was made by a man turning 48 in two weeks, and it's one of the best albums of the year. Kendrick will be 34 when his next project comes out, and considering his track record, it could be another great album.
We're finally seeing rappers challenge aging and the idea that you can only make your best music when you're young and hungry. We've gotten a lot of great projects in the last couple years from older rappers. Hell, even Eminem proved a few years ago that he could make a solid album that's shorter, more focused, and consistent. What's Drake’s excuse?
FACTSnikkas talking about this same ol. We heard this a thousand times.
But be in them Westside Gunn, Benny the butcher, Conway the machine and Boldy James threads eating dikk and they making the same songs over and over again.
What so new and different Nas that did on his last album. What J Cole did so new nothing. nikkas writing long ass reviews for no reason if you don’t like Drake just say that.
People don’t listen to whole albums like that not sure what you talking about everyone makes playlists, follows pre-made playlists, or shuffle their phonesSounds like a bunch of excuses. The Off-Season and King's Disease II both received praise in the real world. They're respected as great projects. People are going to go back and listen to them because they're good. Nobody is going to remember this album existed in a couple years.
And if you really think The Off-Season doesn't sound differently than his last three albums, I have no idea what you're listening to. The last time he made a song like "Applying Pressure" was probably seven years ago with "Fire Squad." The production is a major step up from KOD, where a lot of the beats blended into each other. Again, I have no idea what you're listening to with claims like that.
And are you serious with Nas' discography after God's Son? He didn't try making an album with a completely different tone and approach every time he dropped? Didn't try working with new producers, exploring new concepts? Even though King's Disease II is a sequel, it goes out of its way to separate itself from the first one in almost every category. What is wrong with you?
Drake has dominated for years with hits, but there's a reason people don't hold up his marathon albums like that. He's a singles artist, and he has been for a long time.
