The Remorse was a good track to wrap it up. Something reflective. This shyt is hard. AOTY so far. This nikka got so much range with his body of work. He can go from hard shyt to soft shyt with ease.
His hard shyt is soft though. He go from soft to very soft

A few just OK songs and 'Way 2 Sexy' is easily his worst song ever....overall it's solid though, makes me want to revisit his last few albums - I thought NWTS was excellent (10/10) but I haven't enjoyed any of his projects since until this one.

I'ma go back. Giving this like an 8/10 :ehh:

3 songs in I'm mad. Bars Kool but all the extra takes that take away from the vibe and sloppy production making this sound kinda demo tapeish

Gotta jam in the whip tho to be 100 on that

After one listen

This album is like a McDonald’s chicken nugget

It’s so very far from the best gourmet chicken you could get at a nice restaurant but it’s been meticulously engineered in a lab to create something that no one could hate, blended together precisely to offend absolutely no one and take no risks whatsoever, and then mass produced.

I find myself tapping my foot with these beats because that’s what they’re engineered to do, but simultaneously knowing it can barely get any more generic and incredibly boring than this

Folks won’t want to admit it, but I’m on W2S right now and so far this has been a Migos tier album. But it’s Drake so that gives it more gravitas. More Life doesn’t get enough credit. That was one of his last really good albums and he hasn’t come close to IYRTITL ever since. I still spin that like it’s day one.

In a year with top tier releases I was hoping this would feel special off first listen. Maybe it will grow on me. I’m with you on More Life and IYRTITL but DLDT was a solid cohesive listen. It feels like he no longer cares to craft albums anymore.

Solid album. Could have been about 3-4 songs shorter but thats a typical Drake album now.

Tons of bangers though, theres a lot of replay value here. WAY better than his recent batch of albums imo.

Music is at a point now, where dudes are going to microwave the same album over and over again, until the formula doesn't work anymore. This sounds like every other random Atlanta rapper's project that's dropped in the last 8-9 years. No originality or anything even halfway inspiring or undeniably dope. It's just the same beats, drum patterns and flows that have been lifted from other MC's, with the same dry delivery we've been hearing since NWTS. Dudes who were actors before rappers, always seem like they're playing the role of rapper, more than actually being entrenched in the art of being an MC. And when you don’t write your shyt, it just gives everything else a mad inauthentic feel. I'm pretty sure I've given up on Aubrey at this point, lol. Ross and Hov are the highlights of the album.

People gotta start challenging these dudes to make better albums. It's always 20+ tracks of saying nothing memorable, unless someone's beefing. We need more monumental projects that will actually be about something other than just having a new joint out. What Kanye was doing on his first few albums, is what's missing now. Actually being invested in the art of music, and spending time making something that will stand out and basically be classic forever. Kendrick does it too, which is why he's probably the best to drop in the last 10 years. A lot of what Drake has been doing for years, is just generic everyday template "rap", under a bigger name.

This…ALL of this.

Same issue that Donda has….waaay too many songs…

Off first listen, I actually prefer Donda…

I have to give it a couple more listens before I give a rating…
