I waited like 2 days to listen to it after I let the wave of opinions (good and bad) pass.

I also haven't read a single post in this thread except the ones on this last page (62). I also won't be coming back to read any more.

This album is the definition of mid. Nothing on this is good, but I guess nothing on it is bad. Which is probably more about the state of modern rap which is in a space where you really could swap the average artists vocals on songs and it wouldn't matter. This album sounds like that. These guys rap about what those guys rap about. These beats aren't particularly musical and its more about who hears it first and puts it out and not about what is tailored to a specific artist.

Also, Drake is 36 and pettier than ever, and at this point the pettiness is getting really sad now that he's closer to 40 than 20.

He's not flabby n sick but he's a grown ass man and every time I see him now he looks more and more like some of my friends who've got kids and shyt, but then he starts rapping and it's petty kid shyt he's on.

That said, I "like" maybe 3 songs? Outside of that it's just whatever-level music. I might not ever listen to it again outside of the 3 songs I didn't mind coming up on shuffle.

shyt like this, to me, is the definition of music that doesn't need to exist. And what I mean by that is it all feels like contractually-obligated music releases. New music like this comes out because it's time for new music. That's really all it is. "New music." Spotify could delete this and say it's never coming back and it wouldn't' mean shyt to anybody after the first day of "wtf" tweets.

OK that's it

I said way more than I thought I would. Nobody is gonna read this anyway

yeah Kendrick's was super weak in comparison to everything else that's been released this year

He made a album that the mainstream media would love and give him a Grammy for, not for hip/hop fans
Really ?
I love that damn album.

It's probably the best Hip-Hop album to come out this year IMO.

On topic:

I'm running through this record just because it pissed so many people off.
I'm going to see if it's on the same level "If you're reading this, it's too late".

:pachaha: @ how the lyrics, structure of the lyrics, delivery, & pronunciation on "Middle of the Ocean" is a straight fukking Royce Da 5'9" bite.

I'm certain Royce wrote that or his ghost writer is a biter like a motherfukker.

All of the End Rhymes for bars
the beginning rhyme for the bar
Setting up the punch in the middle of the second bar, delivering
at the end of the bar.

shyt is text book Royce.
