It's good to get in on the ground floor for anything on The Coli. Think about all the classic TV series, and how they were made even better via Coli threads in real time. Look at the "Elden Ring" thread for the video game equivalent. This thread is about to be entertaining as fukk no matter what.

The original "Dragon's Dogma" did Smilez & Southstar numbers so to have this many people playing it day 1 is crazy. All those ports and re-releases gave it a 2nd life.

I’m probably going to get this but I’m kinda iffy on the gameplay I’ve seen thus far….looked kinda tedious but it does seem reminiscent of Monster Hunter which I like

Thats kind of what has me hovering the preorder button. I don’t really want to jump in if its just going to be like MH where you just go to a location and fight big monsters and thats it.

I need some kind of strong narrative pull or social link stuff to tie it altogether

Yeah it's great to see how Dragon's Dogma grew years after its release.

I think it was drowned out by Skyrim and Dark Souls as it kind of lands in the middle but it's also completely different.

Capcom also been on a major upswing in recent years

The first game didn't exactly set the world on fire. It gained momentum when the PC version dropped in 2016 but it's popularity is due to it being ported multiple times across 10+ years.

Just finished this video, oh boy, i cannot wait to hear the reactions of people picking this up thinking its gonna be your basic open world adventure-rpg.
