I’ve never played this game

What game is it similar to?

Didn't play the first one so I got no idea what this is or how it plays....break it down for me brehs so I can see if this is a cop for me or not

It doesn't really play like anything else.

It's kinda like a cross between
"Dark Souls", "Monster Hunter", and "Shadow Of The Collossus".

But it's not like a Souls game. The combat is a lot faster paced and doesn't really rely on perfect parries or dodging or anything like that. You do have a stamina bar but it's mostly for movement and climbing, not direct combat.

The whole gimmick of this game is the Pawn system. You have a main character, and your partner, a Pawn. The game is always online so other people can use your Pawn and vice versa, and Pawns learn from what people do in the game. So some Pawns will have insight on how to defeat a boss, do a quest, etc.

Also Pawns can receive rewards from the people that use them so it's a good way to help with grinding for materials.

Fred.

Currently smoking some fye tryna decide between this and baldurs gate 3 :mjcry:

Everytime I see the inventory system in that game I just tear up that mf looks tedious as hell..Im a witcher 3 stan and this is looking more up my alley
This game might be good but I guarantee you it will not be Baldurs gate 3 good. Do yourself a favour and get BG3.

No single game like it.

IMO It’s a combination of Morrowind (world mapping and traversal, unique fast travel), monster hunter (combat), Shadow of the Colossus (boss combat), and a MMO (zero hand holding)

The most unique shyt about it is nighttime is fukking terrifying. It’s super dark, if you don’t have a torch, you can’t see a foot in front of you. You can walk off a cliff if you’re fukking around. Demons come out at night too :demonic: There’s little to no fast travel so if you die out there, it’s a long way back to your shyt.

Even the inventory and healing was a bit unique and difficult to compare to other games.

There is a carry weight limit but it can be increased with skills in the old game (in this I think you have to collect something to increase it).

In the 1st you could combine herbs/items to create stronger healing potions or items with additional properties (heal health+stamina for example). You could get creative too, for example there were healing springs in the open world and standing in them would completely restore you and your party. You could go to one with empty bottles and bottle the water creating easy/light healing items.

Food items spoiled with time, but sometimes it was beneficial to let items "ferment" a little as they healed better. Could store them in airtight bottles to stop the decay.

Don't know how much of this will carry over into 2 though

Can you imagine how crazy this would be with full multiplayer?

How did that get rejected in the boardroom?
